The management of ARY Digital told Lollywoodfilms that we had filed a petition in the Sindh High Court but they allowed the drama to be aired.
Regarding the ban, PEMRA had issued a notification according to which complaints were received from the public regarding the script of the drama, while the channel management was repeatedly asked to review the content of the drama and its script. Make it in line with Pakistani society, if not, action will be taken against the channel and the drama.
Despite repeated warnings from PEMRA, no change was made in the script as a result of which PEMRA had banned the airing of drama serial Jalan under Section 27 of the Ordinance.
On the other hand, film critic Umair Alvi while talking to Lollywoodfilms said that PEMRA’s order to ban drama burning has been suspended by the Sindh High Court after which the 14th episode of the drama was aired as usual. Done
Umair Alvi said that this was bound to happen because PEMRA regulates that it cannot ban drama.
The cast of the drama Jalan includes actress Manal Khan, Areeba Habib and Emad Irfani among others.
It may be recalled that after the teaser of Jalan drama came out in June this year, it was criticized even before the beginning of the drama and people were calling the story of the drama against Pakistani social traditions.
